Day 1: Travel from Kansas City to Paris, France.
Day 2: Explore the Palace of Versailles and the World War I battlefields of Belleau Wood and Chateau Thierry in France.
Day 3: Tour the World War I battlefield of Verdun and the 800 year old Notre Dame Cathedral (coronation site for French kings) in Reims, France.
Day 4: Visit Bastogne, Belgium’s World War II battlefield and the 1200 year old Aachen Cathedral (final resting place of Charlemagne and coronation site for over 30 German kings) in Aachen, Germany.
Day 5: Tour the nearly 800 year old Cologne Cathedral and the medieval walls and fortifications surrounding the city of Cologne before exploring the ancestral home of the Peeper family in the small town of Beckum, Germany.
Day 6: Explore the 800 year old Godesburg Fortress in the middle region of the Rhine River Valley, the Remagen Peace Bridge (a valuable bridge over the Rhine river into Germany at the end of World War II) and the 900 year old Are Castle ruins near Altenahr, Germany.
Day 7: Tour Ehrenbreitstein Fortress in Koblenz, Germany via the Seilbahn Koblenz cable car over the Rhine River before exploring the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz. The rest of the day will be consumed by a drive to Munich, Germany.
Day 8: Tour the Dachau concentration camp memorial and museum then return to Munich to explore the Marienplatz and view Das Glockenspiel.
Day 9: Travel to Eibsee and take the cable car to the top of Zugspitze (Germany’s tallest mountain) before heading to Neuschwanstein Castle, one of the most picturesque and famous castles in the world.
Day 10: Explore the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen, Germany (maybe riding in a zeppelin?) before visiting Hilzingen, Germany, the ancestral home of the Fehr family. Finish the day by driving along the Alps to Zurich, Switzerland.
Day 11: Travel home from Zurich, Switzerland to Kansas City.
