After two days in Reims, France it was hard to say goodbye to such a lovely place. We shoe-horned our Audi A3 from its parking spot and headed east towards Belgium. After a few kilometers of rolling farmland the Ardenne Forest approached, as did the heavy rain.

In a few kilometers we arrived in the sleepy, pro-American village of Bastogne. In WWII, Bastogne was the site of the famous Battle of the Bulge. For 30 consecutive days the 101st Airborne was surrounded by German forces intent on reaching Antwerp, Belgium. When asked to surrender, General McAuliffe replied the most famous response in military history; “Nuts”. After a tour of the Bastogne War Museum, we headed through the gift shop and off to neighboring Luxembourg, only a few kilometers away.

Providing proof and witness that we were actually in Luxembourg, Rufus and Bill pose for a picture. After waving to the neighbors in Bohey, Luxembourg who were out gathering their mail, we travel through what can only be described as some of the most scenic views of the entire trip on our way to Aachen, Germany.
