Post Fellowship Wrap-up

One of the final steps of the Rural School and Community Trust grant that we received is a “post fellowship workshop” that we attended recently in Raleigh, NC.  This three day workshop brought together all of the teachers from across the nation who traveled this past summer as part of the grant.  What great friendships can be gained in just three days!  Not only did we get to hear about the various travels, but we also had great educational discussion about the “takeaways” from our trips and how we can impact our students, schools, and communities with “place-based learning”.  It was inspiring to experience the creativity and passion that teachers have for their schools and their subject matter!  Both Jeff and I are excited about ideas we picked up at the workshop and can’t wait to put into action!  Thank you again for being interested in our travels and we will keep you updated on how things are implemented.joycepc-win_20160917_113423

The group picture in Raleigh, NC shows just how easy it is to get 30 teachers to stand still and smile at the same time!

The pictures above detail some of our activity and presentation sessions over the weekend.
