Bill had the honor of being selected as a Fund for Teachers fellow in the Spring of 2020 and though the experience had to be postponed for a couple of years, it is finally going to happen! The primary component of the fellowship is a GEEO (Global Exploration for Educators Organization) tour through Central Europe. Up to 16 current or former educators will travel together from Berlin to Budapest over the course of 14 days, visiting 6 countries along the way. Bill will add a 7th country to his excursion by including a 24-hour layover in London, England on the way to Berlin.
The short description of Bill’s proposal to Fund for Teachers was “to explore the “crossroads of conflict” between Berlin, Krakow, Prague, and Budapest to research the extensive unrest and political conflict during the 20th century and inspire students with the resilience and recovery of the people through personal narratives and local histories”.
