Day #3 we ventured south of the city to scenic Mt. Vernon, the home of George and Martha Washington. Most of the smoke from those Canadian wildfires had disapated, and the temps stayed cooler with a few sprinkles in the afternoon. Walking the plantation you realize that it had to support itself in all aspects. Gardens, orchards,farms even it’s own wharf. It was a great change of pace from DC. Stay tuned for more.
