Day #4: On to Salisbury, with a stop at Stonehenge!

As I traveled southward to Salisbury and another original Magna Carta, we stopped along the way to visit another World Heritage Site, Stonehenge. Stonehenge is one of the most iconic and mysterious prehistoric monuments in the world. Located on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, England, it consists of a circular arrangement of massive standing stones, some weighing over 25 tons and standing up to 13 feet (4 meters) high.

A short distance away lies my next destination: Salisbury, UK, a pilgrimage city with a classic medieval cathedral at it’s center. I get in early enough to take a short visit, but will explore more tomorrow on Day #5.
