Salisbury Cathedral, located in Salisbury, England, is one of the most iconic examples of Early English Gothic architecture. It was built between 1220 and 1258, and its spire (404 feet)—is the tallest in the United Kingdom. But beyond its stunning architecture, the cathedral is famous for housing one of the four surviving original copies of the Magna Carta, the second on our trip. Salisbury Cathedral’s copy of the Magna Carta is one of the of the best preserved of the four originals. It is displayed in the Chapter House, a beautiful octagonal room with a stunning medieval frieze showing scenes from the Book of Genesis.
